Mary is going to Italy in July and we were told to just change the time when
she lands and that will take care of it......plus test test test.....she will
also be taking a backup pump and lantus as well..........I got her a Frio for
the insulin.........make sure you have your letter from her endo to cover
everything for customs......have a wonderful time....wish you were going to be
near Mary to hear on of the concerts....

My husband and I are lucky enough to be taking Ailsa (now almost 3 years
old) to Germany for 2 weeks in June for the World Cup and to visit family.
Any suggestions/ideas about international travel with a pump? We already
have a backup pump on loan from Animas. How should we deal with the time
change on the plane? The flight there is overnight and that is often
Ailsa's most volitile time (70's - 300's). From 9-12midnight, she has the
highest basal of the day, but from 12 - 6am she has the lowest basal of the
day. We have travelled in the US with the pump quite a bit over the past 2
years, so hopefully are prepared for most things, but any other ideas would
be welcome.

Danke (thanks!)
Octavia, mom to Ailsa, diagnosed at 11 months, pumping since 14 months.
