I hear you! We basically don't have school nurses either. Our school nurse
signs her health care plan at the beginning of the year, but that is the
extent of her involvement. Everything else is accomplished by working with
the teacher.
But, I acknowledge that Canada does not have many things that we have in the
USA to protect kids in the school system. Sadly, even with our laws, it is
never easy. Not in my state, anyway. Even though it should be a given that
a child with diabetes would get a 504 plan, we had to bring in an attorney
to get them to grant us one.
We'll all keep fighting together for our kids' sake!
