When I went through Detroit Metro on the way to NYC, I also had an
Animas loaner pump. I told the screener that it needed to be
visually screened and couldn't go through the x-ray. I was told in
no uncertain terms that it went through the x-ray or it didn't get on
the plane. So, it got x-rayed. I called Animas directly from the
airport right after this incident and the person on the phone acted
like it was no big deal. I was not offered a new pump when I got to
New York, it was like, "oh well, guess they're having a higher
security moment now". So, I find Animas's concerns to be
suspect. If their support people don't care that the pump was
x-rayed, then what's the deal?
