[IP] Re: What you don't know...

I don't know why the medical profession gets us convinced that control is
possible! In MY experience it is a fraking lie.

Of all the things that impact bg, I can control few: Food, meds, site,
exercise and (to a degree) rest. (Yep, I did the cgm,eat the same food,
measured for x days. wildly different results for the duration of the test)

I cannot control stress factors in my life, only my reaction to them. (the
only way anyone can completely control stress is to quit work, live in a hotel
and be heavily medicated)

I cannot control the turn of the biological clock that gives me dawn highs and
2 am lows.

I cannot control my hormones: we aren't just talking estrogen, but all those
other stinkers from thyroid, adrenals and heavens knows what else that keep my
sugars in an uproar.

The phase of the moon affect bg. The season of the year, the amount of
sunshine, the speed of my colon, the alignment of the planets and what music
i'm listening to... well, you all know the drill.

And when we DON'T meet the mythical target of 'control' we get the 'lecture me
like a first grader'. Yeah - lecture me, then tell me to test more often.
I'm controlling all I can, and my numbers STILL don't please you. Ummm. More
stress. (like I NEEDED that?)

Lies, I tell you!
Control is a lie.
