Hi Joyce,

I suffer from moderate neuropathy in my feet (and hands) as well.
I've had T1 for 40 years but do not require as much insulin as you do.

Since with neuropathy our sensations in our ankles can actually be
Somewhat reduced it's possible (although not likely) that the pain in
Your ankle is not as bad as it would be if you did not have neuropathy.
It could be warning you that something is wrong, for instance a
Sprained or fractured ankle.  With reduced sensation it's possible to
Sustain an injury without knowing it.

My recommendation would be to have it checked out right away.
With diabetes something simple can become serious rather quickly
If not attended to promptly.
