RE: [IP] floaters
Liz,
I had a similar experience recently and the doctor also recommended that I see
a retinologist to be safe.
It turned out that I did indeed have some serious issues. Apparently the
statics are that 99% percent of all
T1's will develop diabetic retinopathy after 20 years and 100% will develop it
after 30 years I was at 25 years so lucky me.
The good news is that they have some procedures to help stop any future
problems before it progresses so well worth the visit.
Unfortunatley for me I also have super high blood pressure (220/90) that had
snuck up on me and I developed a vitreous hemmorage.
Within a month....it was odd as zi had never had a high reading in the doctors
office but we noticed the problem readings at home.
Anyway I have had quite a bit of the laser treatments now and am still burry in
the one eye ( it will clear)
but very greatful we have such technologies For us today.
Do go immediately to the retinologist and have your eyes photographed the
sooner the better....
Judy

Subject: Re: [IP] floaters
I saw my eye doctor (ophthalmologist) this morning because of the floaters
that
appeared in both eyes recently. She checked me out thoroughly and said that
there's nothing to worry about, other than being annoyed by them. They started
first in my left eye and then last week one appeared in my right eye. She said
she could see one in my left eye but I haven't really noticed that one at all
recently, probably because the one in my right eye was annoying me more. The
right one is right in the center and is more noticeable.
She did tell me that I should see a specialist and have another test done -
depressed something-or-other. She gave me the name of a doctor at the eye
hospital so I will call and make an appointment just to be safe.
